Correlation between Certification Requirements & 2017 Spring Enrichment Offerings
The detailed 2017 Correlation between Diocesan Certification Requirements and Spring Enrichment Course Offerings for catechists of children, youth ministers, catechists of adults, intergenerational catechists and Catholic school teachers is the definitive listing of which courses – with day, time, course number, title and presenter’s name – fulfill each certification topics’ requirements, by certification track or specialization. It also includes a supplement listing this information for non-certification topics (ie, liturgical ministry, pastoral care, technology in ministry, parish leadership, etc.). The various indices in the Schedule-at-a-Glance and other brochures and guides are useful to help the public select courses by general topic, but individuals pursuing diocesan certification should refer to this Correlation to ensure that the course(s) they sign up for do, in fact, count towards their certification needs. A simpler, though not as complete, “Certification Index” is on pages 20-22 of the Comprehensive Program Guidebook.
Certification Requirements & Paperwork
Albany Diocese’s current Certification Requirements for Catechists, Youth Ministers & Catholic School Religion Teachers – a two page summary of our certification requirements.
While the official copy of your certification “transcript” is to be maintained at the parish/school, individual catechists, youth ministers and Catholic school religion teachers are encouraged to keep track of the courses they have taken and certification levels attained as a backup. Due to the different topics required for the different certification tracks or specializations, there is a separate certification transcript for each track.
