SPRING ENRICHMENT 2012

Spring Enrichment is designed to provide everyone with the opportunity to come together to find out more about their faith and to deepen the skills and understanding of individuals serving in catechetical, youth, liturgical, pastoral care and other parish ministries. Nearly a thousand or more attendees, paid and volunteer ministers, lay and ordained, gather each year for four days of inspiring keynotes and major presentations, enlightening and challenging workshops, dynamic prayer and worship, critical networking, extensive new resources and certification opportunities. With over 110 different courses to choose from, there is bound to be something for everyone at Spring Enrichment.

The theme of the 2012 conference will be “The Heart of Christ” – the theme of the second year of the Diocese’s “Amazing God” evangelization initiative which also resonates with the year’s Catechetical Sunday theme “Do This in Memory of Me”. A number of this year’s presentations directly flow from this theme or reflect specific updates to prior workshops to reflect this theme. Several new courses have been added to this year’s schedule to provide opportunities for those pursuing catechetical certification to pursue their certification according to our revised certification requirements (Sept. 2010).

This year’s conference, running from Monday, May 14 – Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, includes 111 on-site, two hour workshops and courses. Interspersed with these workshops will be major presentations on spirituality, catechetics end evangelization. On Wednesday there will be two special presentations focusing on bullying and throughout the conference there an increased number of offerings on using technology in support of ministry.

On Monday, May 14, Jesuit Fr. James Martin will be the opening keynote speaker, and will also be doing a special Q&A session that evening. Martin is the culture editor of America magazine and the author of several bestselling books including The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything, My Life with the Saints and Between Heaven and Mirth. Tickets will be required for admission to both of his presentations and will be included with the nametag of all registrants for sessions A01 & D01 and may also be purchased separately for those not registering for other Spring Enrichment sessions.
