PLEASE
REMEMBER: For the pastoral planning process
“Called to BE Church” we must make
Jesus the focus of our efforts and his
mission and ministry our goal. Meetings should always be held in
the context of meaningful prayer.
The
timing of “Called to BE Church” is
very important. Pastors, Administrators and Parish Life Directors MUST
make every effort to stick to the
schedule of meetings. There are two phases of meetings,
all of which are conducted in the
context of prayer:
Phase
1
“Loosening
the Soil”
Before we can begin effective
planning, we must agree on the meaning
of Church and that the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ
will be central to our work. During the first three weeks of
October and November 2006 Parish Town
Meetings will be held. The topic
for October will be mission and the
topic for November will be
ministry. During the last week of
the month a Local Leadership Meeting
will be held that brings together the
leadership from each parish within a
Local Planning Group. The Local
Leadership Meeting will be lead by a
diocesan appointed facilitator.

Phase
2
“Local
Planning Group Meetings”
Beginning
in January 2007 and continuing for
eighteen months. A diocesan facilitator will be
provided for all Local Planning Group
Meetings. Facilitator and Participant
guides for all the meetings are
available by clicking on Meeting
Resources. The
Scope
and Sequence of Topics is tentative and may change as the
process evolves.

prayers for all the meetings are
