Renovation Project

Dear Parishioners and Visitors,

On October 5, 2005 we completed Phase I of our Renovation Project as
we rededicated our parish church following a four-month construction project.
The sanctuary and worship space is filled with new light and the warmth that has
always been a part of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. Major features of this
renovation include a new portico and entrance; a marble baptismal font that
matches the original stone of the altar, ambo and tabernacle stand; refigured
sanctuary platform and Blessed Sacrament chapel.  Five new stained glass
windows add to the majesty of the church.  Three of the windows were created
by Sarah Hall Studios: the creation window at the baptismal font; the tabernacle
window separating the sanctuary and the chapel, a  prism window contained
within the chapel. The two glass doors located on either side of the chapel,
represent Mary and St. Joseph .  These windows were designed by Guy Kemper
Studios.

The renovation also includes a new vestibule area, sacristy, lavatories and
storage space.  We are grateful to James Hundt Architect, Inc. and Sano-Rubin
Construction for the design and execution of this wonderful worship space.

Phase II

The next phase of our project will be to remodel LaSalle Hall.  This space
is used by the whole parish community: Faith Formation Program, Rainbows,
Church Mice, Elizabeth Ministry , Youth Ministry, 55’er and Seniors, Rosary Altar
Society, and everyone else!  The scope of this project will include new insulation,
floor, ceiling, windows and HVAC.  Your continued support of the Capital
Campaign will make this a reality.

Sincerely,

Father Burke
