Ushers Association

The Ushers Association meets in early December and again in March to elect officers and/or conduct general business.  These two meetings involve the Parish Life Director and include discussions of possible additional duties as needed for the well-being of the parish.

Ushers hold tremendous responsibility for the maintenance of a welcoming environment at each Mass. Often the first to greet each parishioner, the ushers assess seating arrangements and offer assistance to those with special needs. Practicing decorum and unobtrusive grace, they move quickly through taking up the collection and securing the monies. Upon conclusion of the Mass, the ushers again greet parishioners as they exit, handing out bulletins or assisting during after-mass refreshments.

The Raffle, held each Spring, provides the necessary association funds. Tickets for this 50/50 prize event are sold both before and after mass for a three-four week period with the drawing held at the Ushers’ Breakfast. The Ushers’ Breakfast, the second event, is hosted annually by the Boy Scouts.
