Attendance
Requirements
Parents must
call the Faith Formation Office (355-4193) when
their child must miss a class. A note should be
brought into the class when the child returns,
stating why he or she was absent. If classes are
missed, the student must get the assignment from
his or her catechist, and make the assignment
up. Students should not miss more than two (2)
classes per year.
If a situation occurs in which a student must
miss several classes, he or she can be
temporarily placed on the Home School list.
Please call the Office and let us know if
attending class will be a problem. Parents must
place their child on the Home School list in the
Faith Formation Office. The parent would then
follow the text book material at home with their
child for as long as they feel is necessary.
Repeated, unexcused absences will result in a
student repeating the grade or in having parents
Home School that grade over the Summer.
Please request a copy of the guidelines for St.
Gabriel’s Home School Program if your child is
unable to attend Faith Formation classes.
Children must be in the Faith Formation Program
for two (2) years before they may receive the
sacraments of First Reconciliation and First
Eucharist. Please contact the faith formation
Office (355-4193) if your older children have
not been baptized.
In order to play CYO basketball this year,
students must have been registered in the parish
by January of the previous year.
