Faith Formation/Youth Ministry

General
Information

Students
must register each year according to their
grade in school. Registration for the
following year's classes takes place in
March. Renewal registration forms are sent
home with students, and are returned to the
office with payment before the end of March.
Late fees apply after this time.

The
sacraments of Reconciliation and First
Eucharist are celebrated in the second
grade. Children must have attended first
grade classes before receiving these
sacraments. Students in third grade or older
who have not previously celebrated
Reconciliation and First Eucharist will be
prepared separately. Please contact the
Faith Formation Office if you have an older
child who needs Sacraments.

In
accordance with Deanery policy for
Schenectady County, the Sacrament of
Confirmation is celebrated no earlier than
eleventh grade.

St.
Gabriel’s follows the Mohonasen School
District calendar. When there is a school
holiday, there are no Faith Formation
c1asses. If schools hold half-day teacher’s
conferences, St. Gabriel’s WILL have
classes as usual in the afternoon and
evening. If public schools close due to bad
weather, the Faith Formation Office usually
also closes. It
will be announced on radio and TV that St.
Gabriel’s Faith Formation classes are
cancelled or someone will call the students.
