The 2017 Triduum will be a shared celebration of St. Gabriel and St. Madeleine Sophie parishes and will be held at St. Madeleine Sophie Church. The Prayer and Worship Committees have put together a Lenten Calendar with important information on Lenten activities and events.
Stations of the Cross: Come walk the path of Jesus Fridays after Ash Wednesday thru the 5th week of Lent, at 1:30 pm at St. Madeleine Sophie with school or Fridays at 7 pm at St. Gabriel Church followed by exposition and benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Living Stations will be presented at St. Gabriel on March 31 at 7 pm.
A Holy Hour for Life will take place on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 PM at St. Gabriel Church. Services will include exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, silent adoration, novena prayers for Life, Rosary and will conclude with solemn Benediction of the Holy Eucharist.
On Monday, April 10th, St. Madeleine Sophie will host a Red Cross Blood Drive. The drive will take place in the Parish Center from 2pm – 7pm. Our goal is 50 units of blood. The minimum age to donate blood is 16 years of age with parental permission. Please consider GIVING THE GIFT OF LIFE. You are encouraged to make an appointment. Although Walk-ins will be welcome on the day of the Blood Drive, there will be a longer wait time.
Volunteers are needed to make calls to potential donors about the drive, help with check in on the day of the drive and manning the “refreshment table” during the drive. If you are able to help, even for an hour or two, your help would be appreciated. Easter is coming, which means it is time for the annual Easter Egg Hunt!

Join us for Breakfast at St. Gabriel's featuring Omelets or eggs (made to order), pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, coffee, tea, juice, and milk on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 8 a.m. until noon. Tickets for Breakfast at St. Gabriel's will be available only at the door. Tickets cost $8.00 for adults $5.00 for children under 10 years of age. Join us at the St. Gabriel Gym for fellowship, fun and a great breakfast while supporting our Parish.
All seniors are cordially invited to attend the annual Senior Luncheon sponsored by St. Gabriel’s Women’s Club. This year the date is Friday, April 28. We will be serving at 12 noon in the parish gym at St. Gabriel’s. The luncheon will be followed by a fun filled afternoon of bingo and music. Reservations are required. CROP WALK for Schenectady area is Sunday, May 7, 2017. Fun activity for individuals, youth, children and families for a great cause. The walk begins with registration at 12:30 pm at Emmanuel Friedens Church, 218 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, 12308. Opening Ceremony begins at 1:20 pm. Walk begins at 1:30 pm. Any children/teens who like to sing or play an instrument are welcome to join the St. Gabriel's Youth Ensemble. Rehearsals are held at St. Gabriel's Church on Mondays at 5:00 PM. Also, anyone interested in singing with the St. Gabriel's adult choir is welcome to come to the rehearsals which are held at St. Gabriel's Church on Mondays at 7:00 PM. A men’s prayer group will meet downstairs at St. Madeleine Sophie’s Faith Formation Building at 7 pm on the first Wednesday of each month. During this meeting, the men engage in an open and forthright discussion about life, our Catholic faith and communal prayer. All men are invited and welcome to attend. Moderator is Father Leo Markert.
The Good Neighbor Program provides clothing care packages to local school aged children in need to help them feel confident and comfortable to face the school day. We accept gently used or new clothing for boys and girls in all sizes. We also always appreciate donations of new socks and underwear.
