Let the little children come to me;
do not stop them;
for it is to such as these
that the kingdom of God belongs.

Special Needs

We would like to serve every child and meet everyone's needs in promoting a friendship with Jesus and therefore we welcome children with special needs to participate fully in our faith formation and sacramental preparation programs.

Whether you wish your child to be fully included in a classroom environment or you would like to work out a home-study program or a combination of both, please contact the Director to explore the possibilities (489-3204 or bernmc@nycap.rr.com).

Grades K - 6

Our K-6 Catechetical Program meets Sundays from 8:40 - 9:50 AM in the school building. All grades assemble a number of times a year in the school gym during program time to discuss, pray and/or act upon a service/justice issue. Additionally, instructors may conduct service projects with their individual classes throughout the year.

Our trained and/or experienced instructors utilize Sadlier's Coming to Our Faith series as a base for the institution of their curriculum as outlined by the Diocese and, supplement it with teacher-created activities.
Please contact the Director for more information at 489-3204 or bernmc@nycap.rr.com.

Grades 9 - 10

Our High School Program includes both a Catechetical component for non-Catholic school students and a social, service and liturgical component for public, private and Catholic school teens.

All High School students are strongly encouraged to participate in service activities, liturgical experiences, fundraisers, and are always welcome to join social activities sponsored by the parish.

Our Catechetical program follows a workshop model that includes 5-10   3-hour sessions.  They are also invited and encouraged to participate in Youth Group led activities. The workshops are held in the Parish Center on Sundays from 10:45 AM until 1:45 PM.

St. Mary's Press Horizons series and various other older adolescent materials are used by our trained Group Leaders to meet the Diocesan curriculum standards.

If teens wish to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in 11th or 12th grade, they are expected to attend religion classes either at their Catholic school or through our Religious Education Program for both 9th and 10th grades, and participate in the extracurricular activities sponsored by the parish or school (e.g., service activities, etc.). The Confirmation Program has its own requirements - see Confirmation link.
