Finance/Administration Committee The new code of Canon Law requires a pastor to have a Finance Committee. This committee has a consultative vote and assists the pastor in the administration of parish goods.  (Canons 532 and 537). Sub-committees include: Bishops Appeal The annual drive to elicit financial support from parishioners to meet our parish assessment to help support the work of the diocese. Budget Preparation An annual parish budget is prepared in consultation with the Pastor and other committees and in accordance with the objectives set by the Pastoral Planning Committee.  The accountant also reviews income and expenditures to determine that the parish is operating within the approved budget.  Parishioners are provided with periodic and (at least) annual reports of the financial state of the parish. Landscaping and Grounds Volunteers assist in maintaining the appearance of the church grounds and buildings.   They also provide for preventive maintenance and good stewardship of our parish properties.  Areas of service include gardening and landscaping, maintenance of the parish kitchen and volunteer sacristans who clean the church and sanctuary. Stewardship Part of St. Mary's mission is to set aside a portion of the weekly collection for those in need outside the parish.  In addition to a financial commitment to our Sister Parish of Guatemala, a committee solicits applications for donations and recommends to whom a portion of our funds should be given. Fund Raising Special fund-raising projects are held periodically to insure that St.Mary's has adequate financial resources to meet the parish mission. Money Counters Volunteers meet weekly to prepare the weekend collections for bank deposit.
