Upcoming Priesthood Discernment Activities
May
– August 2006

Saturday, May 20th – Diaconate Ordinations:  We have 3 men being ordained as transitional deacons at this ceremony.  Next year they will be ordained priests.  The ordination will be at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral.  We will meet for Morning Prayer and breakfast prior to the ordination.

Saturday, June 17th – Retreat at Auriesville Shrine:  Fr. James Daley will be our retreat director as we pray, reflect and spend time with our Lord on the sacred grounds where St. Isaac Jogues and his companions were martyred.  Any of our seminarians will tell you that this retreat has been a powerful experience in the past.

Dinner and Evening Prayer with Bishop Hubbard – Date and time TBA  

Sunday, August 13th at 4 p.m. – Evening Prayer of Sending and Candidacy Ceremony at St. Pius Church in Loudonville:  Bishop Hubbard, priests and laity of the diocese, will gather to pray for all our seminarians as they return to seminary for another year of study.  We’ll celebrate Evening Prayer and Cylon George and David Hammond will receive candidacy.  Fr. Joe O’Brien of Holy Spirit Parish in East Greenbush will be our homilist.

 

Upcoming Religious Life Discernment Activities  
April – August 2006

May 06 & June 10, 2006 - "Come & See" Vocation Day:  Held at the Sisters of the Resurrection Provincial House in Castleton, New York (only 15 minutes from downtown Albany on Route 9J).  It will be a day of prayer and discussion for single women between the ages of 18 and 40 seeking to discern their call to the religious life.  To register please call Sister Dolores Marie at (518) 732-2226.

“Road to Weston”  Women and men interested in spending a day at Weston Priory in Weston, Vermont to prayerfully consider God’s call to religious life for a day of guided discernment with Sister Rosemary Ann Cuneo, C.R., email or call 674-3818.

“Close to Home”  Women and men interested in spending a day to prayerfully consider God’s call to religious life for a day of guided discernment with Sister Rosemary Ann Cuneo, C.R. in a retreat setting in the Capital District, email or call 674-3818.
