The Family Life Office: Separated/Divorced Ministry

This program was established to coordinate support group activities for divorced and separated Catholics. The activities in the program assist individuals in bringing about a return of stability and a restoration of hope subsequent to the trauma of separation and divorce.

The Ministry to the Separated and Divorced:

  • Serves as a liaison for the support groups.
  • Provides leadership training programs for parish and regional facilitators.
  • Provides workshops, speakers, etc. for individual groups.
  • Maintains on-going contact with the North American Conference for Separated and Divorced Catholics www.nacsdc.org

Many Catholics who have felt alienated from their Church have found their way back via the empathy and understanding they have experienced within the support groups. Christians of all denominations have been welcomed by our support system thus fostering the ecumenical dimensions of our faith promoted by Vatican Council II.
