The Kateri Institute recognizes that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany covers a large area of 14 counties and over 10,000 square miles. Therefore, like FMP before, the Institute’s program will be offered at regional sites throughout the diocese. While on occasion participants from all sites may need to travel to a central location for some aspects of the program, in general faculty and staff will travel to the regional sites.
In order to provide the optimum community formation experience, and to meet financial costs, each site must have an enrollment of about 18 to 24 participants. Participants indicate which site they wish to attend on their application form and will remain at this site throughout the entire three year process.
Most sites meet one Saturday per month. A weekly Tuesday evening option is offered in Albany.
With sufficient enrollment, sites for fall 2010 will be:
Saturday Sites:
- St. Edward the Confessor, Clifton Park – to serve the greater Capital District and southern Saratoga areas.
- St. Mary’s, Oneonta – to serve the south/western area.
- Our Lady of the Annunciation, Queensbury – to serve the North Country
Tuesday Evening Site:
- The Pastoral Center, Albany
If possible, it is hoped that these sites will become more permanent locations for the program. Plans are also underway to open sites in the future to serve the remaining areas of the diocese.
