Lenten Journey - God Sees Into the Heart (ADULT)
This is program three of a four-part series. Father Michael Himes draws insights from the Lenten Sunday liturgical readings from the Gospel of John (Year A). In this video, he examines the readings of the Fourth Sunday of Lent with the theme of "light and darkness". We learn how "God sees into the heart" with the unlikely choice of David for king, and how the man born blind only sees Christ when he testifies. The video gives a vivid description of the Easter Vigil in the early Church, when people literally stumbled through the darkness to receive the light of Christ.

Best Loved Gospel Stories - The Man Born Blind (JH, HS, ADULT)
This modern retelling of the story in John 9:1-41 shows Jesus ("Joshua" in the film) healing a blind man outside a laundromat. This contemporary presentation of "The Man Born Blind" shows how people might respond today if Jesus were to visit and re-enact His miracles. It contrasts a true religious faith in Christ with a false religious formalism. The accompanying leader's guide has good questions for discussion/reflection and good ideas for related activities concerning attitudes toward the handicapped, the poor or the homeless.

Mystery Of Faith: An Introduction To Catholicism - Eucharist (ADULT)
This is part of the ten-video series which introduces viewers to the "depth dimension" of many of the key Catholic insights. Eucharist tells us who we are and where we are going. In this video, Father Michael Himes shows why Eucharist expresses God's commitment to us in love. He reviews the concept of "covenant" and examines the 3 great covenants of Israel with God (Noah, Abraham, and Moses) which lead up to the promised Messiah, Jesus, who would establish a New Covenant rooted in the Old Covenant. This video also explores the Real Presence, the self gift of Jesus Christ, covenantal meals, and the change from living according to the Law to living with love as the basis and motive. The Eucharist expresses God's commitment to us in love and tells us what our destiny is. Eucharist truly makes us into a people, joins us to God and to one another.

The Holy Land of old comes alive as the viewer witnesses firsthand the paths of Jesus' travels: from Bethlehem to Nazareth, Jerusalem and Calvary to the Sea of Galilee, from Capernaum to Jericho, His baptism at the Jordan River and His Sermon on the Mount, and His final walk through the streets of Jerusalem. Beautifully photographed, with scriptural narrative and original music, this visual account of Jesus' life gives viewers a deeper spiritual experience of those sacred places which witnessed His teaching, miracles, passion, death, resurrection, and ascension. This video journey witnesses to the Divinity of Jesus Christ and His love for all.

Witnesses (8 "witnesses" who knew Jesus) (HS, ADULT)
In this powerful dramatic video, actor/author Curt Cloninger portrays eight diverse characters (witnesses) who knew Jesus. The characters are portrayed in contemporary language and dress, and include a "Bronx accented" Abe who hilariously describes a party Jesus attended; an "Italian" Lazarus who describes Jesus calling him from the graveyard; there's Barabbas reliving his reaction to Jesus' crucifixion; Thomas is sorrowful and inconsolable after Jesus' crucifixion; and Peter is portrayed as overjoyed after learning of Christ's resurrection. These characters, performed lovingly and humorously before a live audience, will cause you to see Jesus from a fresh perspective - not as a cardboard historical character, but as the Word alive. Through the moving acting of Curt Cloninger, the reality of Jesus' life and love will be experienced by all viewers.

Amie (JH, HS, ADULT)
Amie, a young, intelligent photo journalist, has one passion--people! On assignment for the centennial edition of The Daily Tribune, she gets involved with the poor in the inner city and helps their plight make headlines. So threatened is the city's mayor by Amie's truthfulness and concern for the powerless that he forces her to the ultimate commitment. As we encounter the people Amie meets and listen to the stories she uncovers, we find ourselves remembering another person who cared about people, who gave them faith in themselves, and who ultimately laid down his life for them. Looking more closely at Amie's story, at the relationships she makes, at the words she speaks, we come to see that the Gospel - its people and events - is mirrored throughout this film. Her life, like that of Jesus, bears witness to the truth: "There is no greater love than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."
