Celebrating Sacraments (Series) - Baptism: Celebrating Life (Rev.Ed.) (ADULT)
Most parents need and deserve a much fuller understanding of the life-transforming effects of baptism both for their child and for themselves. This video emphasizes the fact that through baptism each of us "proclaims Christ" as our savior and is "claimed by Christ" to become a member of the Church and begin a new life in him. Through a discussion of the theology and an overview of the rites and rituals, the program reminds parents that they and their children are called through baptism to be witnesses to a gospel way of life. As the title states, in Baptism we are celebrating life in God's family.

Echoes of Faith: Liturgy and Sacraments (ADULT)
This video is one of a series. In it, you will explore the meaning of liturgy and sacrament, and gain insight into why the sacramental life of the faith community is so central to our Catholic identity. Some core understandings addressed are: the meaning of ritual, the nature of liturgy, symbolic actions and the saving action we celebrate, and the seven sacraments and the experiences of life.

From The Ends Of The Earth (ADULT)
This video has two parts: the call to mission and living the mission. "It is not enough to discover Christ--we must bring Christ to others…" - Pope John Paul II. This video invites us to become increasingly aware of our Baptismal call to continue the mission of Jesus. We are also challenged to a deeper understanding of Eucharist as the model for living mission, of being "bread for others." Each part includes: one two-hour session, step-by-step instruction for the leader, video format activity/worksheet, prayer resources, and background information.

Called By Name (JH, HS, ADULT)
The nature cycle - life, suffering, death and new life - contrasted to the faith cycle - search, crisis community, to conversion to faith, to new life - pulsates throughout the video and challenges us to reflect on our own Baptism and what it means to live our baptismal commitment.

Changing Sacraments (HS, ADULT)
The sacraments are explained as a history lesson through the use of humor. There are seven segments of varying lengths: 1. Godparent Gussie: Baptism/Confirmation; 2. Sinner Sam: Penance; 3. Worshipping Wilma: Eucharist; 4&5. Marrying Melvin: Marriage/Part One and Part Two; 6. Clerical Clarence: Priesthood; and 7. Ailing Annie: Anointing.

Liturgies of the Triduum: Easter Vigil (JH, HS, ADULT)
This is the third of three videos on the Triduum. "This is the night," the cantor proclaims over and over. It is the great Vigil of Easter. The night is spent first around a blazing fire, then around the newly lighted candle, then around the scriptures where some of our best stories are told again. Finally comes the calling of the saints as all process to the font. Those who have been long preparing renounce evil, profess their faith in Christ and enter the waters. After they are anointed with chrism, they go with the whole joyful assembly to celebrate the Eucharist. It is a splendid night!

Sacrament Series--Baptism (Emementary Grades 4-6)

Challenging young people to remember Jesus' love and serve others, this video uses the actions of daily living, Jesus' life and the ritual actions of the believing community to call us to grow in Christ.
