We are aware of the various reports that have emerged regarding Bishop Howard Hubbard’s request to return to the lay state. Our prayers are with Bishop Hubbard for his well-being and with all who accompany him, that all decisions and actions are in accord with God’s plan.

Father Kenneth Doyle, a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, died this morning at the age of 82. He grew up in Troy, graduated from Catholic Central High School, attended Mater Christi Seminary, and received his degree in Theology from Catholic University. He was ordained by Bishop Edward Maginn on May 28, 1966.

Following a vehicular incident on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, Bishop Emeritus Howard Hubbard underwent a medical evaluation at St. Peter’s Hospital. It was determined that he suffered a stroke. He has since been released from the hospital.

We are sympathetic to the plight of the St. Clare’s pensioners and want to see these hardships resolved as soon as possible. We respectfully disagree with the attorney general’s decision to file this lawsuit.
