Blessing of the Animals

Friday, Oct. 4, 2024

  • After 8am First Friday Healing Mass until 4pm: St. Cecilia's, 26 Broadway, Fonda. 
  • 3:30pm-5:30pm: Our Lady of the Valley, Main St. at Wells Ave., Middleburgh - Apples, Animals & Donuts. Old fashioned apple cider making, bring some apples. Blessing of the animals at 5:30pm.
  • 4:30pm: St. Mary's Crescent, 86 Church Hill Rd., Waterford.
  • 5:30pm: St. Margaret of Cortona, 1228 Main St. (Route 5S), Rotterdam Junction (rain or shine). Please be sure to have larger animals leashed and smaller friends in appropriate carriers for their safety.
  • 6pm: St. Matthew's, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville - Social Hall parking lot.
  • 6pm: Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville.
  • 6pm: St. Mary Our Lady of the Lake, 31 Elm St.- bring your pets to St. Mary's front lawn at 31 Elm Street for a blessing by Fr. Michael.

Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024

  • 10am: Sacred Heart, 50 Mohican St., Lake George - in front of the Chapel.
  • 10am: Holy Trinity, E. Clinton St. at Glebe St., Johnstown - in front of the church. Please bring your critter friends who bark, meow, cluck, whinny and scamper.
  • 10am: Christ the King, 20 Sumter Ave., Albany.
  • 10am: Holy Trinity Church, 205 Glebe St., Johnstown - in front of the church entrance on Glebe St.
  • 10:30am: St. Thomas, 42 Adams Place, Delmar - on the school front lawn.
  • 11am: St. Anthony of Padua, 28 State St., Troy - parking lot of State Street & 4th Street.
  • 11am: St. Mary's, 39 Walnut St., Oneonta - on the church plaza.
  • 11:30am: Corpus Christi, 2001 Route 9, Round Lake - rain or shine.
  • 12pm: St. Edward the Confessor, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park - at the Bell Tower (for the safety of everyone, pets must be under control of owner at all times).
  • 12pm: St. Mary's, 429 E. Allen St., Hudson - folks (and the animals!) gather in the plaza in front of the church.
  • 12pm: St. Kateri Tekakwitha, 1803 Union St., Niskayuna - please gather with your pets in the parking lot behind the school.
  • 12pm: Our Lady of the Assumption, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Latham.
  • 3pm: Our Lady of Hope, 115 Reid St., Fort Plain - in the church parking lot.
  • 3pm: Siena College - on the Chapel Patio outside Hines Hall.
  • 6pm: St. Joseph's, 231 Second St., Scotia.

Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024

  • Following 10:30am Mass at St. Kateri Tekakwitha National Shrine and Historic Site, 363 NY 5, Fonda - near/in St. Maximillian Kolbe Pavilion.
  • 11am: St. Clare's, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie
  • 11:30am: Our Lady of Victory, 55 N. Lake Ave., Troy - hear about St. Francis of Assisi and have your animals blessed! Any questions, please contact Youth Minister, Matt at youthministry@olvols.org or (518) 273-7602 ext. 102.
  • 11:30am: Christ Our Light, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville
  • 12pm: All Saints, 16 Homestead St., Albany - on the church grounds.
  • 12pm: St. Joseph's, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward.
  • 12pm: St. Henry's, 39 Old Route 66, Averill Park. 
  • 12pm: Church of Saint Mary at Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Trpk, Rensselaer - in the parking lot. If you can't bring your pet, maybe bring a photo or favorite toy and our blessing will extend through them.
  • 1pm: Our Lady of Grace, 73 Midline Rd., Ballston Lake.
  • 1pm: Sacred Heart, 15 Liberty St., Sidney - at the St. Francis Shrine by the back parking lot.
  • 1pm: St. Luke's, 1235 State St., Schenectady - on the Furman Street lawn. All animals are welcome.
  • 2pm: St. Pius X, 23 Crumitie Rd., Loudonville - outside in parish circle.
  • 3pm: St. James, 117 Hudson Ave., Chatham - in the church parking lot.
