The Church of St. Vincent De Paul, Albany NY has an opening for a part time (ten to fifteen hours per week) pastoral care minister. Due to a retirement occurring in January, this position has potential to be expanded, if desired.
Under the supervision of the Director of Evangelization and Catechesis (Director), the Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministries (Coordinator) plays a key role in the implementation of the vision for ongoing faith development for the combined program of Immaculate Conception (IC), Our Lady of Grace (OLG) and St. Joseph’s (SJ). The primary focus is forming missionary disciples among the adolescents (Grades 6 - 12) and young adults (ages 18-39) of the three communities. The Coordinator will organize, plan, implement and evaluate all 8 components of ministry as outlined in the USCCB’s document “Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry”. The Coordinator will be the primary facilitator for young adult formation opportunities within the three parishes.

The primary focus is supporting parents as the primary catechists of their children by offering innovative and meaningful faith formation programming for children ages 3 through 5th Grade and their families.

The PAA, an exempt employee, serves as a staff resource to the pastor in fulfillment of his duties under canon law to administer the temporal goods of the parish. The PAA performs work duties using considerable judgment while collaborating with, communicating with, and advising the pastor on management issues involving parish operations, employees, properties, and the cemetery.

Additional duties include extracting data and preparing reports from the payroll processing system needed to manage Diocesan wide benefit programs such as worker’s compensation and pension, maintaining records and performing accounting transactions for the Diocesan life insurance and long-term disability (ltd) benefit programs as well as the Diocesan pension plans. The incumbent will also support parish personnel on the use of the Diocesan wide payroll software. In the execution of these duties, the incumbent performs routine to moderately complex accounting tasks.
