Teresa J. Miller's Bio
I moved to Albany with my parents and seven siblings when I was seven years old. I have been a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany ever since, it’s my second home.
I began working for the NYS Department of Social Services right after high school and, a few years later, transferred to the NYS Dormitory Authority. After several years working for the State of New York, I left to work in a private law firm, but there was something missing from all of those jobs. Then, in 1993, I found the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, and here I am 31 years later. I began working in the Stewardship Office as a data entry clerk and am now the Office Manager. More than three decades working in the same department is a testament to how much I believe in the mission of this office. The annual Diocesan Appeal, which had been known years ago as the Diocesan Development Program and then the Bishop’s Appeal, has helped countless people over a span of more than six decades. What was missing in all of my previous jobs is what I found at the diocese - purpose. I finally felt I was doing something that made a difference. Many people have come and gone in my years here, some very good friends have passed on, and all I can say is that I am truly blessed to have been a part of their lives, and to be a part of the diocesan family for so many years. There have been ups and there have been downs, but it has all been worth it, and my hope is to one day hear these words that I have read so many times – “Well done, good and faithful servant” - Matthew 25:23
My husband Joe and I have four children and four grandchildren who all live close by. We get to have lots of family time, and we are so grateful for that! When we retire, we hope to visit every state in this beautiful country of ours and someday take a trip to Ireland.
I love reading, gardening, long walks, spending time with our kids and grandkids and, of course, spending time with all of our grandpuppies…..all six of them, the pack just keeps growing!
