North American Martyrs Feast Day: Annual Walking Eucharistic Pilgrimage
Oct 17, 2026

Join the Annual Walking Eucharistic Pilgrimage during the North American Martyrs Feast Day Weekend. 

The walking pilgrimage will go from St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam to Schoharie Crossing Yankee Hill Lock, and end at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs. 

Pilgrims should arrive at St. Mary's between 7-7:15 a.m., with departure happening at 7:20. The stop at Schoharie Crossing Yankee Hill Lock will include a restroom break and is scheduled to take place around 9 a.m. Pilgrims may choose to join the procession at this point. 

The approximated arrival at the Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine is at 11 a.m., with Benediction to follow immediately. The total pilgrimiage extends 7.5 miles. 

Information about limited bus transportation to and from the Shrine is available by emailing julie@ourladyofmartyrsshrine.org, or by texting or called Julie at 518-630-9922. 

Events to follow the pilgrimage include: 

Mass with Fr. David Wilton, CPM at 11 a.m.

Talk and book signing with Georgine Willemsma, author of Jean's Loyalty, from 1-3 p.m. 

Confessions from 3-4 p.m. 

Martyrs Novena Mass with Bishop Mark O'Connell at 4 p.m. 

Health Care Professionals and Respect Life Month Mass with Bishop Mark
Oct 18, 2026, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Please join us to celebrate Healthcare Workers & Respect Life Month.

Health Care Professionals and Respect Life Month Mass with Bishop Mark O’Connell will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. 

All Healthcare workers, family, friends and the public are also encouraged to attend to help pray for, support, and celebrate our health care community. This will also give an opportunity to honor Respect Life Month. 

Catholics across the diocese will come together to witness to the inherent dignity and transcendent value of every human being. There is no registration required.

Albany Area Young Adults (18+) Adoration and Confession
Oct 26, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

6-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26 at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville.

Gather together for Eucharistic Adoration, confessions, the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. Pizza and fellowship to follow. This event is sponsored by the Office of Vocations.
