We have received word that some people in our parishes are receiving scam emails that appear to be from Bishop Scharfenberger and seek donations. The address is typically a gmail address with the Bishop’s name in the header, making it look legitimate. Unfortunately, some people, believing the request was real, have responded. Please do not ever give money, credit card information, gift cards or any other donations to emails such as this. If you have already done so, you may want to contact your bank or credit card carrier.
