Bishop Announces Administrative and Pastoral Appointments

June 2, 2017

Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger has announced the following pastoral and administrative assignments:

Father Paul J. Mijas has been appointed Priest-Administrator of St. Joseph’s Church, Worcester, effective June 3, 2017. Father Mijas, a native of Poland and a citizen of the United States, was ordained for the Diocese of Radom in 1985. Since 1990, he has been in parish ministry in the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Through some contacts, he heard about our Diocese and almost a year ago expressed his interest in coming here. He successfully completed our process for accepting international priests, and the Placement Board recommended to the Bishop that he be accepted for ministry in the Diocese of Albany. Bishop Scharfenberger accepted the recommendation.
