Bishop Edward Scharfenberger's Holy Week and Easter Schedule

The following is a schedule for Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger of Albany for Holy Week, which marks the end of the Lenten season, and for Easter, which commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

All of the services listed will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany:

Saturday, March 24, 5:15 p.m. 
          Palm Sunday Vigil Mass, includes blessing of palms at start of liturgy. Bishop presiding.

Tuesday, March 27, 7 p.m.
          Communal Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Holy Thursday, March 29, 5:30 p.m.
          Mass of the Lord's Supper, includes washing of feet. Bishop presiding. 
          Adoration follows at the Holy Apostles' altar until 10 p.m., ending with Night Prayer. 

Good Friday, March 30, 5:30 p.m.
          Solemn Liturgy of the Lord's Passion and Death, includes veneration of the cross. Bishop                presiding.

Holy Saturday, March 31, 8 p.m.
          Solemn Vigil of Easter (Nightwatch of the Resurrection), includes the lighting of the "new                fire" outside Cathedral at start of liturgy. Bishop presiding.    

Easter Sunday, April 1, 11 a.m.
          Easter Mass. Bishop presiding.

In addition, Bishop Scharfenberger will participate in the Palm Sunday Divine Liturgy at St. Ann’s Maronite Catholic Church in Troy on Sunday, March 25, at 10 a.m.
