A Message from Bonni Shippee, Diocesan Chancellor: Pastoral Appointment:
Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger has appointed the Very Rev. Brian Kelly as the Vicar for the Promotion of Integral Parish Development, while remaining Vicar for Vocations and Pastor of the parishes of Saint Ambrose in Latham, St. Michael’s Church in Cohoes, and Most Holy Trinity in Cohoes.
Fr. Kelly’s responsibilities in this new role include assisting parishes in developing and strengthening their mission, assessing their strengths and weaknesses, and determining how they can best serve their people and their communities. This role will support the process Bishop Scharfenberger announced on Tuesday, April 7, 2025, aimed at implementing a newly envisioned future for long term growth and the formation of mission-focused disciples in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany.
