Bishop Scharfenberger to Perform in Annual Concert for Vocations

Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger, along with diocesan clergy, religious, and laity, will perform at the fourth annual Concert for Vocations at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, on Tuesday, Aug. 7, beginning at 7 p.m.

More than a dozen performers are scheduled for an evening of music, fellowship, and prayer. Selections include a variety of classical, sacred and secular compositions, with Bishop Scharfenberger slated to perform a spiritual lyrical adaptation of Leonard Cohen’sHallelujah, as well as Bach/Gounod’s Ave Maria. Last year’s performance drew more than 600 attendees. For the first time, the concert will be live-streamed and available for viewing through the diocesan website at www.rcda.org.

The event is free and open to the public and will be preceded by a Eucharistic Holy Hour at 6 p.m.
