Diocesan Catholic Schools to Remain Closed through April 1

March 18, 2020

The Diocese of Albany Catholic Schools will remain closed through Wednesday, April 1, and will first attempt to re-open on Thursday, April 2, unless directed to remain closed for an additional period of time. This is in accordance with an executive order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo requiring all schools to be closed through April 1, 2020, to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The state will reassess whether to extend the school closures further and continue to suspend the 180-day instructional requirement. It is quite possible that school districts that have announced closure through mid-April may re-evaluate this decision in light of the additional stipulations in the Governor’s declaration.
