On Sunday, June 19, 2022, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Corpus Christi, honoring the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. This year, that celebration will include a procession in the cities of Albany and Hudson after Sunday morning masses.
At the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception
125 Eagle Street, Albany
Mass begins at 11:00am
Eucharistic Procession follow around the Cathedral: down Eagle Street, to Madison, then back to the Cathedral
At St. Mary’s Church in Hudson
429 E. Allen St. Hudson
Mass begins at 9:00am
Eucharistic Procession follows Mass: from St. Mary’s, down Main Street, stopping at Ukrainian Catholic Church for prayers, returning to St Mary’s.
Corpus Christi honors the Catholic belief that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist. The host is consecrated during the Mass, becoming the Body of Christ. The solemn procession after mass is a public witness of Catholic faith and devotion to the sacrament of the Eucharist.
