Lockout at St. Thomas the Apostle School Delmar

February 3, 2021

A statement by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany:

Earlier this afternoon, St. Thomas the Apostle School in Delmar received a distressing phone call threatening violence just before dismissal. The administration immediately notified the Bethlehem Police Department. The school followed its safety plan and went into a lockout. Police advised the school to delay dismissal as they surveyed the scene. Just before 3 p.m., police gave clearance for dismissal. They maintained a presence on the campus as students were released. The school has turned the matter over to Bethlehem Police, who will maintain a presence on the school property tomorrow.
