Memorial Mass for Archbishop Flynn

Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger will preside at a Memorial Mass for Archbishop Harry J. Flynn at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. A Schenectady native, Archbishop Flynn died Sept. 22 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was 86.

Archbishop Flynn was a graduate of Siena College and was ordained for the Diocese of Albany in 1960. He was pastor of St. Ambrose in Latham before being named Bishop of Lafayette, Louisiana, and later Archbishop of Minneapolis-St. Paul. He retired in 2008, after serving as archbishop for 13 years.
