Bishop Scharfenberger wants to hear from you!
Bishop will be visiting the Adirondack Vicariate to talk about the pastoral and spiritual tasks ahead of us. Parishes are encouraged to invite staff and trustees to join us for this important day on Tuesday, March 31, at Our Lady of the Annunciation, 448 Aviation Road, Queensbury, as Bishop Scharfenberger and department heads from the diocese listen to your concerns, hopes and dreams for the future. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the Bishop and diocesan staff so that we might work together to best serve the people of the vicariate.
The day will begin with a large vicariate meeting at 1:30 p.m., to which all are invited.
On the agenda, we will share both our most prevalent issues and some of the great successes in our parishes. Following that meeting we will break into our professional cohort groups from 3-4 p.m. (business people with finance, faith formation with ministry to the laity, etc.) to discuss needs and learn how the diocese can assist you. There will be an opportunity for one-on-one meetings with the Bishop or department leaders from 4 to 5 p.m., when we will break for dinner.
The Bishop will then lead evening prayer beginning at 6 p.m., followed by an open discussion with the people of the vicariate. Please invite all parishioners to this evening event, as Bishop Ed hopes to hear from all people about how best to move our Church in the Diocese of Albany forward.
We are hopeful that this visit will provide insight and inspiration.
Thanks for your help in making this a successful and fruitful day.
