Gracious God, we come to you as we remember the events of September 11.    As we bring to mind the people and places of that sorrowful day, be with us, comfort us as we mark their pain as our own.  We know that you hold all those who suffered and died close to your loving heart.  Help us to learn from the selfless example of the many people who gave of themselves to help others.  Fill us with your loving kindness so that we may better serve you and each other.
